Ok guys im going to let you in on a discussion that has been going on for awhile at AG... We are having some space issues and are wondering if it's time for airball to go away... The thought would be to put some sort of castle in that field and be able to play new castle threw the village to the octagon...
We can't have this and keep airball...
So let the voting begin! |

Alex I strongly encourage you to KEEP airball.
I'm new to AG and don't know all the field dynamics going on yet but IMO it wouldn't be a top class paintball facility with out an airball field.
I assume the idea to do this is due to the lack of use the airball field gets?
If so I have some ideas I would like to bonus ball you with...see how I did that, bounce off = bonus ball.... I'm a funny guy....hardy hardy har har..
We can make airball at AG work I know it!!!!!! |

I say build a Castle. Airball is my least favorite way to play, and will only play Airball if there's no other way to play.
AG-Is, and has ALWAYS been nationally known for the Castle(s). I've played in every Castle ever built at AG in the last 25 years. AG- has ALWAYS been known for the BEST IN WOODSBALL in New Hampshire, or maybe New England. I'd like to see something elaborate, playable and well constructed. |

The reason i bring this up is because AG has only had airball for 3 years now... and in those three years the use of the airball field has actually declined... Three man tournaments have gone by the wayside, (the last three in a row have been canceled due to 0 teams entering)
I agree with the shootest in the aspect that AG has in the past been a woodsball facility... places that do well with airball are places like boston paintball who build a whole tournament complex and only play speedball... they are also closer to that demographic of players...
Even when canobie had their state of the art field up they could barley cover the bills of the field because of a lack of response...
What im trying to say is over the past three years more money has gone into the airball field than all of the other fields at AG combined... and i have been keeping tabs on it this year and year to date there have been less than 10 people who have paid full price to play airball
I feel that we are too far north to attract the kind of teams that you see down in boston or even at Canobie... and i feel that a neat structure right next to the staging area would take our park into the next level of parks... something that people would drive long distances to check out!
anyways im just starting a dialog to see what peoples feelings are! no decisions have been made so keep talking! |

In my opinion, i would want to keep Airball up. I enjoy woodsball, and airball, and you guys are the closest field who has both, that i enjoy going to. However, if you do loose speedball, i would have to go to another field that has both woodsball and airball, adding another 1/2 hour to the field every week. I know it is a business decision for you, and it would probably save you money to get rid of it. However, i, and some others i know will not be able to come back to ag as frequent, because of no speedball. I hope you decide to keep airball up, and that your decision brings more customers either way.

I say put up a castle as it is wasted space now and a new castle would look good as it can be seen from the staging area and people could watch the games being played, also it would be nice that a brand new structure would be the first field you see when you pull in the parking area.AG has always been a woodsball field and the fact that AG is still in business
after all these years proves what type of fields players in this area like to play on. |

AG has been known as a wood ball course for the entire duration of the park. Been playing there since 94, and never has speedball been successful, nor will it likely ever be. The field is a bit too far north to draw the crowd down south that enjoys playing the balloons; they all hit Canobie or Boston Paintball.
I'd love to see a slightly bigger version of Anthrax with lights that could be used for night games, but I imagine that won't fly and folks around here will have to keep going to PA for such games. Still, a castle with a 2nd story balcony that goes around the top in a circle, similar to the old Castle 2, would be a more reasonable and more easily constructed, alternative. |

Build a Castle,.... Air Ball is only used by a select few players remaining at AG. New players can not afford to play on Air Ball once they feel the "hype"
fade away with the reality of why Air Ball was ever invented and moved into the main stream industry.

You guys gotta keep the airball field, I used to play the air ball field at Canobie and it was almost always full. Granted a lot of people were from the reapers the sponsored team, but I know for a fact many people who played exclusive airball at canobie a lot of times didn't specify they were playing air ball they just simply paid regular field admission. |

Keep Airball Castle urban & octagon are enough buildings last couple times we went down we were told it was for tournys & the last time we went it wasn't even set up maybe if players could play a game of airball between games or roatate that field in it would get more use IMO I personally like airball as the markers I use are made for that type of play I live a distance away from AG so I don't get to go down as much as I like but when I do go down it would be GREAT for my crew to be able to play a few games on it the one time we did get to use it last year we had a blast as did a few people we played against who had never played it before |

Alex,
Any further news on the Airball vs Castle? Personally I would prefer to see you guys keep the airball field as there is nothing close by and me and my son, and his friends, love playing at AG. This would keep us coming up here instead of trekking down to Maynard PB to play some Airball. |

as of last sunday there was a small 3 man field set up. I beleive that building a castle or expanding the village got shot down by Weare. |

We have set up the 5 man X-ball field in a totally non regulation way to be left up as a taking up space sort of field... the old chronic field was just too much work. The new field is still on the table and it is approved but will probably be built in the long term rather than in the short term.. we opted to instead spend some money on some other fields and to use up the current airball fields that we have
This field is going to be used as one of our fields and not reserved for team use... we will not be giving priority treatment to any teams where the field is concerned so it will just be another field!
Thanks
Alex |
